Can I use my c1ik CD on my Mac Operating System?

  • c1ik CDs do not run on Mac OS at this time.

Can I use my c1ik CD on more than one computer?

  • c1ik is transferable from one PC or laptop to another. Simply remove the CD from the first computer and put it in the second computer. Since c1ik does not allow simultaneous connections, only one computer at a time may be connected.

Does a c1ik CD have an expiry date?

  • Typically, c1ik CDs expire 180 days after first use.  However, expiry dates vary depending on the requirements of the retail outlet where c1ik is sold. Please contact Customer Support if you need confirmation of the expiry date.

Does c1ik allow simultaneous connections?

  • c1ik does not allow simultaneous or multiple connections.  c1ik recognises only one connection at time.  This discourages someone from copying your CD and using your minutes to access the Internet without your knowledge.

How does the smaller mini c1ik CD fit in my CD-ROM drive?

  • The smaller c1ik CD must be placed in tray-loading CD-ROM drives only.  When using the smaller c1ik CD on a desktop computer, place it in the inner ring of your CD-ROM drive tray until it rests securely.  When using your c1ik CD on a laptop computer, snap it onto the spinner of your CD-ROM drive tray, just as you would any other disc.

How will I know how much time I have left on my account?

  • c1ik supplies you with the time remaining on your account each time you connect to the Internet.  While connected, clicking on the c1ik icon located in your system tray will display your remaining balance.

If my c1ik CD is lost or stolen, can someone else use my account?

  • Like other pay as you go products, your c1ik service is paid for in advance and you should consider treating it like cash.

My hotel requires me to input an additional number to reach an outside line.

  • No problem.  Simply click the Options button on the c1ik Main Menu screen and enter the digits required to reach an outside phone line.

Can I still use my Netscape or Microsoft Internet browser?

  • c1ik works with all known browsers (i.e., Netscape, Internet Explorer).  Please contact Customer Support if c1ik does not work with your browser.

Can I still access my favourite websites such as Yahoo or AOL?

  • Once connected to the Internet, you are free to search the web just as you normally would with another ISP.

If I am registered with another ISP, do I need to log onto that ISP before I am able to use the Internet?

  • No. c1ik is designed to take you directly to the Internet without having to access another ISP network.

Will I still be able to use messaging programs like AOL Instant Messenger and ICQ?

  • c1ik allows you to use any of the available messaging programs on the Internet.

How do I contact customer support?

  • The most common questions are answered in the Help files on the CD, or in the online FAQ (www.c1ik.com). We continually add to the FAQ with answers to all of your most asked questions.  Alternatively you may use the 24hr Technical Support number 0905 051 0511.  Calls are charged at 49 pence per minute (including VAT) from a BT landline.  Other networks may vary.

What is my serial number and where is it?

  • Your serial number is the unique number shown under Options menu on your c1ik control panel.  You may be asked to provide this number if you ask for a refund for any reason.

Is the Serial Number the Same as my PIN/Recharge PIN?

  • No, The PIN and Serial number are associated with each other, but not the same.  The PIN number is known only to you to prevent fraud.  Please do not divulge it to anyone.

I can’t get the c1ik program to start from the CD, and I have followed all of the directions in the Getting Started help section.  What else can I do?

  • Take the CD out of the CD-ROM drive and check the bottom for fingerprints, dust, or other debris that may be preventing it from being read correctly.  Use a soft cloth to clean the disc if needed.  Be careful not to scratch it.

  • Your system software needs to be in good condition for all your applications including c1ik, to function properly (Windows XP users please note).  If you are still unable to connect, the problem could be with your operating system or Modem driver, so make sure that you have downloaded and installed the latest updates for your system, and keep your live update or other automatic updating system active when you are using c1ik to connect to the Internet!

What dial-up speed and connection speeds does c1ik support?

  • c1ik supports up to 56K, V.90 modem speeds.
